25 June 2014 Actually I am receiving HRA Allowance as Rs.9000/- per month and medical allowance @ Rs. 1250/- in my monthly payslip both heads are not exempted for IT.So that they deduct the tax accordingly.

Please confirm us whether both HRA & Medical Allowance are exempted for IT,if exempted how to claim the refund.

26 June 2014 HRA and medical allowance are exempted only if actual rent is paid and medical expenses have been incurred. Otherwise, tax is to be paid

26 June 2014 you need to reduce your taxable income to that extent and submit the bills to your employer (even if the year has already ended)

26 June 2014 you can claia the HRA and medical alooawant after submitting the bill for that HRA will exempt according to you basis salary and HRA , house rent paid basis. and for medical allowance will exempt up to Rs. 15000/- in a year after submitting the medical bill.
