Please tell me the rules/exemptions of HRA for govt.bank employees working in hyderabad.

HRA is calculated on Basic Pay +DA . The least of the following amount is avaialable as exemption :-
1. 40% (for Hyderabad) of Basic.
2. Actual rent paid - 10 % of basic
3. HRA (As per Appointment letter)
Also, you are required to submit the rent recipts to your employer for claiming exemption for HRA.

Also, you can't get exemption,
1) if you own any house in Hyderabad,
2) You are actually not paying any rent.
