My freind doing jobwork that provide service to automobile and sometimes provide material ...but mainly service providing..he want to get service tax no. .can he get service tax no. And how can he get service tax no ? Could you please suggest me procedure list of document required ? And how much exp must be incurre ?

Service tax is registration you can get from your local service tax jurisdiction with applying through www.aces.gov.in
get register in the website and you will get login and password. after that you can login you can fill ST-1 application form online and submit the form online itself, after submission of form in online, you can take print out and sign and submit to the local service tax office with the following documents
1. Constitution of business ( MOA/Partnership deed etc.)
2. PAN card copy of business
3. address proof
4. Directors & authorised signatories details
5. ID & address proofs of directors
after that department will verify your application form and send the registration certificate (ST-2) to youe register mail id as soft copy. You can take the printout of the same and get signed by the service tax authorities
