A user registered for GST using a virtual office but was advised to add their residence as an additional place of business due to property ownership issues. They cannot use their residence directly as it's a family property in a late relative's name. The discussion explores options like using a godown, a commercial unit rental, or a relative's property with a No Objection Certificate (NOC). It clarifies that a consent letter is appropriate when not owning the property and discusses the process of changing the registered address versus adding an additional place of business.

I have recently got my GST registration however the friend who did the registration for me now tells me that since the registered address is a virtual office it's advisable to provide additional place of business as my residence. However, the sole reason I got a virtual office was cos my residence address is a family property and is still in the name of my late grandfather. I don't have documents for showing ownership of premises associating it with me or firms name. Would I need to have an additional place of business to be on the safe side?

Is it possible for me to have a different registered address on gst than my deed. I was thinking If I can get the registered gst address to be changed to my sister's husband's house and add the virtual office as additional place of business. Would that be accurate?
