GSTR1 filed - How to cancel or amend

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
If you've mistakenly filed an incorrect GSTR1 return, especially with a casual registration that has now expired, you have a few options. You might be able to amend the return in your next filing period, such as the October return. It's also possible to extend a casual registration using Form GST REG-11, for up to 90 days. Importantly, you can still file returns even if your registration has technically expired.

27 October 2021 I filed Sept 2021 GSTR1. It should have been a NIL file, but by mistake I repeated August figures. The GST registration is a casual person Registration that has expired as it was for 1 month only. How do I cancel the GSTR! or amend it to NIL? What is the solution now?

27 October 2021 Amend it in October return.

28 October 2021 The casual registration has expired and Return for October is not feasible with the existing GSTN.

29 October 2021 Extension of GST registration, in case of casual taxable person or a non-resident taxable person, is available by filing an application in Form GST REG-11. It is important to note that the registration can be extended for a maximum period of 90 days.

29 October 2021 Return can be filed for expired registration.
