GST Status on Membership fee paid to professional bodies

At present different professional institute charge 18% IGST on their membership fees.
Does this rate will remain same after 22nd September 2025.

24 September 2025 The IGST rate of 18% on professional institute membership fees remains unchanged after 22nd September 2025. The GST Council has simplified the GST structure to two main slabs—5% and 18%—effective from this date, and professional and membership services remain covered under the standard 18% rate. No reduction or exemption for professional institute membership fees has been notified in the new slab structure.

Sir in newspaper we frequently read about positive side of simplified GST amendment. However majority of newspaper discuss this issue very lucidly. But I think without detail analysis of HSN list alongwith Old and revised GST rate can only clarify the scenario.

25 September 2025 Yes, that's true. More of drama for general public....
More advantage is for 28% slab where the goods are shifted to 18%..
Day to day useful goods of 12% are also shifted to 5%; but loss when some of them are shifted to 18%....
No effect to more than 90% of supply in 18%.
