Situation Recap: ASMT-10 issued on 14th Sep (notice to reply). You missed it due to a technical glitch. Reminder received on 17th Oct, reply due by 21st Oct. You filed ASMT-11 (application for extension) but no response yet. Reply window is now closed. Steps to handle this: Check if you can still file a late reply: Sometimes the GST portal allows filing a reply after the due date but with a late fee or penalty. Login to GST portal and check if the ASMT-10 response window is still open or if thereโs any option for late reply. If the portal does not allow filing reply: Prepare a written submission/explanation letter stating: Reason for delay (technical glitch). Date of receipt of reminder. Date of filing ASMT-11 (request for extension). No reply received from department. Request for condonation of delay and acceptance of reply. Send the explanation letter physically or via email: Identify the GST officer or jurisdictional officer handling your case. Send the letter through registered post or official email (if available). Attach a copy of your ASMT-11 application and reminder notice. Keep evidence of your attempts: Screenshot of ASMT-11 application submission. Email communications or portal acknowledgments. Copy of the reminder notice. If the portal allows, also upload your reply response with explanation even if late. Follow up: Contact the GST helpline or local GST office to confirm receipt of your letter. Request for acceptance of your late reply and extension. Important: Delay in responding may lead to adverse inference or penalty. Showing that you made a genuine effort to comply by filing ASMT-11 will help. The department has powers to condone delay in genuine cases.
