29 July 2013 Whether i have to click on every sheet of itr-2 to generate xml?

29 July 2013 1st of all validate all sheets and check if they are ok. After that in General Sheet click on Generate xml. Then Save xml. XML file will be saved in the folder in which you have stored the ITR 2 excel utility.

29 July 2013 Sir my question is ITR-2 has various sheet so on every sheet i have to click on generate xml or is it sufficient to click 1st sheet only to generate xml?

29 July 2013 It is sufficient to click on 1st sheet only. Clicking on all sheets not required.

29 July 2013 1)click on generate xml button on any one of the page

2)then click on save xml

3)close itr and click on save before closing itr

4)login to your account in incometaxindia efiling website and file return

29 July 2013 Thanks Mr.Ganeshbabu please tell me as i have exempt transport allowance of rs.9600 wo i have filled itr-2 whehter this 9600 be mentioned in exempt income schedule of itr-2

29 July 2013 not only that you may also have HRA income

as per notification 34/2013 dated 01.05.2013 as it is directs that assesse need to file ITR2 only if income not chargeable to tax exceeds more than 5000.

so i am in opinion that you need to file ITR only as you have income not chargeable to tax more than 5000

show in income exempt under section 10 and there after show same amount in sheet EI

29 July 2013 Not getting which ITR form you are recommending? I have received only transport allowance of rs.10500 out of which 9600 is exempt which come under section 10(14) so i think i have to file ITR-2.
Moreover please tell me where is the row showing income exempt under section in ITR-2?

29 July 2013 1)show income chargeable under the head salaried in itr2 sheet partB

2)you can show income exempt under section 10 in serial no.2

3)and the same should be shown in sheet EI
