20 September 2010 difference between an Act and a Statute =

They are closely related. An act is what creates a statute. Often the statute as referred to by the act that created it.

A statute is what is actually enacted into law and shows up in the record books where it is references by the law enforcement community and attorneys. It has all the 'Resolved" and similar language removed from it and shows only the exact wording.
