Filing of service tax return for period before registration

11 June 2012 Dear Experts,

We have collected the service tax for the service provided but did not take the service tax registration. We have taken service tax registration in November but started collecting service tax from the clients from April onwards.

How to disclose service tax collected from April to September in service tax return as we could not file the service tax return from April to September as we do not have the service tax registration during that period.

Please give your suggestions. It very urgent.

11 June 2012 At the very outset, you need to apply for online e-filing process.

Once it is obtained you need to file the returns for the previous period.

However yow will also be required to pay penalty
