Filing of revised return

15 January 2014 hello to all. one of the assessee had got filed its return but he did not send the ITRV to CPC bangalore. Its been more than 120 days now. What is the remedy available as of now. can the return be treated defective. Can he file his fresh return now without intimating the old ITRV to CPC/ITD. Thanks in advance

15 January 2014 one possibility is that income tax department may extend the date for receiving the ITRV as it normally does each year.. in such a case, your return will be processed in normal process. Chances of this are normally higher given that the department is also mulling the option of doing away with ITRV concept altogether.

If this option doesn't suit you. Then file the revised return immediately. Online module may not allow you to file the belated return once the original return has already been filed.
