15 December 2015 yes. 54EC and filing of return of income are independent of each other.

15 December 2015 If time limit of return filing permits- file the return. Without filing a return the assessee converts enjoyment of an exemption into a tension for nothing.

If return can not be filed due to time barring case, keep the things always ready in order to clarify the position.
Exemption will be available.

16 December 2015 I am trying to understand??? What do you mean by "exemption claimed?"..... where and with whom exactly you claimed exemption??????
And why are changing the section now? 54 EC or 54F? See, what I request go slow and one by one... Please dont jump onto another before completing the first one. Ok?
Please tell me... where are you claiming this exemption?
