20 February 2012 Case-1 suppose I have 3 residential houses i sold 1 one of those and purchased a new one .will sec 54 apply or not ?

Case -2: if have only 2 residential houses in the above case then what is taxability treatment ?

pls explain the condition for claiming exemption u/s 54 in both the cases above

20 February 2012 Can avail section 54 in Case-1 and Case-2, since restriction on "number of holdings" is missing in the said section.
