My client is engaged in Art work designing and imaging- basically advertising support, employing 17 persons.

It is registered as a pvt. ltd. co.

Is it required to register it under ESIC Act? kindly advise.

31 March 2012 Minimum worker required without power is 20 in your case it is 17. In my opinion your company should get them self registered with ESIC due to the fact that the nature of business is that the workers are required the clime various poles, ladders for putting boards hoardings etc and you do not know how safe they are while going up and coming down if by chance any one falls and dies then your company shall be fully liable. If the worker is covered in ESIC Scheme then your company is partly liable.
