Sir,
Due to oversight, an excess tax of Rs !,00,000 was declared as due in CMP08 . While filing GSTR 4 for 21.22 ,Portal shows error message that T.O and Tax due in CMP 08 are not reconciled. It directs to increase the T.O with reference to the tax declared in GSTR 4. . Grievance lodges . How to solve this ?

To resolve the issue where the CMP 08 and GSTR-4 filings are not reconciling due to an excess tax declared in CMP 08, follow these steps:
1. Correct the Excess Tax Declaration in CMP 08:
• Log in to the GST portal and revise the CMP 08 for the relevant period where the excess tax of Rs 1,00,000 was declared. You need to reduce this excess tax amount to match the correct tax liability.
2. File Revised CMP 08:
• After revising CMP 08 with the correct tax amount, submit the revised form on the GST portal. Ensure that all details are accurate and updated correctly.
3. Update GSTR-4 with Correct Details:
• Once the revised CMP 08 is processed and updated on the portal, proceed to file the GSTR-4 for the FY 2021-22.
• In the GSTR-4, ensure that you declare the turnover (T.O) and tax dues based on the corrected CMP 08 figures. This should align with the revised tax liability after adjusting for the excess tax previously declared.
4. Address the Error Message:
• While filing GSTR-4, ensure that the turnover and tax dues mentioned in GSTR-4 reconcile with the updated figures from the revised CMP 08.
• If there are any error messages during GSTR-4 filing regarding reconciliation with CMP 08, they should now reflect the corrected information. Make sure to review and confirm that all details match accordingly.
5. Monitor Grievance Status:
