15 December 2010 Hi,
I have worked for a company for 4.5 years, after that I joined a new company where PF is not applicable. I understand that If I wihdraw my PF at this stage it will be taxable, however what will happen in the following cases
1) If I wait till completion of the 5 years from the start of PF account & withdraw the money after the same.
2) If I open a PPF account, can I transfer the money to the same, if yes how to do the same & will it be taxable

your inputs will be highly appriciated.

16 December 2010 If you withdraw after 5 years, it will be exempted, only interest will be taxable

Transferring the PPF account also will be equal to withdrwal only. but you can claim the 80C

Pl tell interest from start of the account will be considered or only for the period after I resigned. Also what about the employers contribution.
