Duty on vrla battery 6V 4.5AH

19 July 2011 Dear Experts,

I want to import vrla battery from china. I have searched in Sch II chapter 85 but could not find exact amount of duty chargeable for the same. Can you please tell me that what would be exact amount of duty including anti dumping duty assessed with reference to the Custom Act..

20 July 2011 please noted that :-

as per para 2.8(iii), foreign trade policy 2009-2014 an exporter / importer who wanted to import / export are exempt from IEC code if they are import / export for personal use / agriculture purpose the goods.

20 July 2011 Mr. Ramesh,

The question is not for personal use. The question is for re-sale of imported goods as he is not going to buy 1 or 2 pcs. Hence, guide him for the duty to be charged.

In fact the duty as applicable to other battery products the same duty shall be charged to vrla battery imported from china
