Dtaa

This query is : Resolved

22 July 2016 I am resident Indian.
I have a dividend income from US.

While filing ITR2 schedule FSI, what should I fill in column "Relevant article of DTAA if relief claimed under section 90/90A".?

At source in US tax was withhold on the dividend paid @25%. I want to claim credit for it since dividends are not taxed in India.

Thank you in advance.

22 July 2016 01. If dividend is NOT taxed, where comes the question of claiming Double Taxation relief?

22 July 2016 Dividend paid from USA are taxed at source @25% as there is a treaty between USA & India.
I also hear that Dividend income from foreign securities are taxed in India.

23 July 2016 you are right.....dividend from foreign companies is taxable in the hands of RESIDENT person.
you need to find out the article from the concerned DTAA. Please follow the link
