28 February 2012 A person's TDS amount is more than assessed income tax amount then he will get refund right? But ITR is filed after the due date whether he is liable to pay interest charged under section 234A? if yes on which amount we have take for interest calculation ?

28 February 2012 thanks for ur reply sir. why sir section 234A is for late filing of return know? in this case a person is filing return after the due date.

28 February 2012 Interest U/s 234A is calculated on total tax liability after deducting TDS,advance tax. In you case, as TDS is more than the assessed amount, 234A interest is not attracted eventhough you are filing return after the due date.
