If you've received a notification about defects or disallowances in your Income Tax Return, it's important to address it promptly. The department may require you to fill in missing particulars, such as balance sheet details if your business income exceeds £2.5 lakhs. You can typically respond by agreeing to the notice and then filing a rectified or revised return with the corrected information.

Please see "My Filed Returns" Tag also. It is possible that the department has cleared and accepted the return. In case of defective returns you are required to file rectification return.
