Is an alternate director included in the total number of directors while calculating 2/3 for the purpose of rotational directors?

Alternate director will be counted under section 255 and 256 of the Companies Act, 1956.

Following directors, subject to the provisions in this regard in the articles, are not liable to retire by rotation:

3. Director appointed by CG under section 408, and
