23 July 2010 for the purpose of overheads,what is the exact meaning of direct wages??is it correct to say that only machinemen wages are included in direct wages?if so then why dont we include operators' wages in direct wages??

23 July 2010 Workers wages whose involving on production directly whether Machine man, supervisors, operators all will be the direct wages

23 July 2010 thankyou for your response CMA Ramesh krishna sir...actually my tutor has treated operators' wages as indirect everywhere even when the question is silent..but operator is a person who is directly engaged in production ..isnt it?

23 July 2010 Some times the operators are looking more than one jobs such as case we may not considered, but for full clarification you need to refer the Cost accounting standard-1
