12 March 2012 what is the difference between deed of assignment & deed of transfer?
please elaborate...

Deed of Transfer

A transfer of property or ownership rights from one person to another, called the "assignee."

For example, a lease may be assigned from one tenant to another. Or, Ownership rights for a patent, copyright, trademark, or trade secret may be transferred by assignment. The property or rights that are transferred.

Deed of assignment

Agreement under which some or all assets of an insolvent debtor are assigned to a trustee, for selling them and distributing the sale proceeds equitably among the creditors.

Assignment of a part of the proceeds of a letter of credit by its beneficiary(usually an exporter or seller) to the manufacturer or producer (of the goodsbeing exported or sold) as a guaranty of payment for those goods. Also calledletter of assignment.
