19 February 2017 De activation of PAN generally takes place in de-duplicatoon process where some details of the person are similar to another person.
Contact your AO and he will tell you why the PAN is de-activated. He will ask.you to submit relevant proofs along with an indemnity bond, etc. and other things to be done to re-activate it. It is a long process and may take time.
