HSN updation not required for credit note.

Yes HSN summary will be updated taking into account credit notes also. Since HSN summary is the summary of supplies in a month HSN wise and since credit notes reduces the amount of supplies the effect of credit notes also to be taken in HSN summary. GSTR-1 has also been updated since some months now to accept negative figures
