Cpe hours requirement for members enrolled in 2015

02 December 2015 Dear All,

I am a CA holding COP w.e.f 15/01/2015

Requesting any of you to confirm whether i have exemption from CPE hrs in first year of enrollment, with reference to ICAI announcement.

Didnot find anything as such in block 2014-2016 CPE requirement block released by ICAI

Please clarify me

02 December 2015 Dear Keerthana,

You need not comply with CPE requirements for the year 2015. You are required to only complete 20hrs of SL CPE for 2016 (which also complies for block of 2014-2016 as a whole).

ICAI clarification for 2011-2013 block can be helpful in this regard which is mentioned below.

But dont you think it is applicable only for that block of 2011-2013.

03 December 2015 Well the notification was for that block of 2011-13. But the same principle holds good for the subsequent blocks as well.

Having said that, I myself got enrolled in 2015 as well. Therefore, I too consulted my seniors on the matter and received the same clarification.
