Computer peripherals from USA

13 May 2010 Hi, If I want to assemble a desktop computer direct from USA and want to know how my excise duty will be calculated? Computer is going to be for my personal use.

Parts that I am looking at:
Motherboard
Processor
Graphics Card
RAM
Hard Drive
PSU (SMPS)

It's going to be a gaming rig, so almost all the parts listed above are between 15K - 30K Indian rupees each excluding PSU (approx 8-9K) and HDD (approx 11K).

I will be getting these shipped from USA, website WWW.NEWEGG.COM.

When it comes to finance/tax stuff I am a complete newbie, but if anyone care to explain why a $259 Motherboard is sold for as much as $620 in INDIA?

I guess you know why I am inclined to get it from USA, but then again I want to be sure if my purchase would be beneficial......
