Comparison of name of the pan and tds return

09 August 2012 Is there any mechanism through which I can compare in bulk the actual name corresponding with the PAN No. submitted by retainers (not a copy of PAN CARD was given ) and name (of the retainer)given by me in the tds return as some cases are arising in which TDS credit has been given to wrong PAN account althogh there was name mismatch but TDS return was accepted

09 August 2012 TDS credit is given on the basis of PAN and NOT on the basis of the name in the TDS return or name in the database.

Name is NOT verified by NSDL. TDS credit is given only on the basis of PAN.
