Hi,
Kindly suggest the procedure for change of jurisdiction of assessing officer in case the assessee migrataes from one state to another state in India.Ex. Mr. A shifted from DElhi to Mumbai. Last year Mr.A was under jurisdiction of say AO,circle 1,delhi and filed return there.Now Mr. is in Mumbai and wants to file return here in Mumbai.whats process for change of I. Tax Jurisdiction.

You need to file the return in Mumbai along with a letter regarding same to Mumbai IT Office .
Also send a letter to Delhi IT Office for for transferring the file to mumbai.
In the event of your file not being transferred within one month(which will never happen) you can file RTI application for the same(surely your file shall be transferred within one month).
