08 July 2011 Sir I have a client have exemption of 80G upto 31.03.2011. now the exemption was expired and i donot require to renew the same as it was not expired before 1.10.2009. Can The Income Tax department issue me the Life time exemption Certificate itself or I will apply for that certificate?
Plz guide...

10 July 2011 Once your exemption is allowed it cannot be for lifetime. The exemption is given for about 5 years or so and then again you have to apply for renewal of the same. The officer concern shall examine your case and if found suitable then the exemption shall be granted for another 5 years. If you do not apply then your donors shall not get any relief for donation given by them.
