20 March 2012 I AM FROM PUNJAB AND MY 5 LAC CASH WAS SEIZED BY INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT DURING THIS ELECTION. AFTER A.D.I ( INVESTIGATION )THE TRANSACTION FOUND GENUINE ( WITHDRAWAL FROM BANK ). TILL TODAY THE ELECTION COMMISSION OR INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT NOT RETURNED MY MONEY BACK. NOBODY KNOW THE PROCEDURE FOR RETURN MONEY. KINDLY HELP ME.

20 March 2012 As per Election Commission¿s guidelines, any person carrying cash over Rs 2.5 lakh would have to support the same with evidences during checking.

noted that IT department must issue the Notice to you & Department not issue so far ....

so please approach IT department & submit a request letter to department writing for return it, u must go to department .

Also Put up RTI letter for Proof & satisfactory reply.

21 March 2012 Sir Asstt. Director of Investigation was issued summon u/s 131 (IA) of Income Tax Act. That the amount was duly verified and accepted during proceeding. It department asked the cash was deposited with Election Commission so ask to Election Commission for releasing that and the same was asked by Election Commission Office that ask to Income Tax Department regarding this. No one know how to release cash.
