Hi I am selling a land, the actual consideration is Rs 20 lakhs. The stamp duty value is however Rs 25 lakhs. Can i compute capital gain for Rs 20 lakhs.

unfortunately no unless you want to dispute the stamp duty value and want the case to be referred to a valuation officer.

Yes Sir, I am willing to dispute as Rs 20 lakhs is the actual market value here. So can i file by compuitng at Rs 20 lakhs . However once can dispute at the time of scrutily/assessment only right?
