13 February 2013 As per latest judgement by the chennai tribunal in the case of C.Ramabrahmam . interest paid in housing loan forms part of cost of acquistion for capital gain purpose.

My question is that:-

1. whether interest paid will be indexed..

and if yes then:-

(i) whether it will be indexed with the actual cost of acquistion and indexed ,or
(ii) it will be indexed seperataly according to year in which it was paid..

Plz reply.. thanks in advance...

13 February 2013 I can not say any thing about the judgement of hon'ble Tribunal. However, Interest will be indexed on yearly accrual basis as per your point no (ii).
