Can we stop filing itr (income tax return)

31 March 2016 Dear Sir,
I have been filing ITR - 1 for last three years. Can I break filing my income tax return now because I am not doing any job now and there is no source of income (there is no income).

kindly help me.

31 March 2016 Yes if your income is nil , you can stop, but then they will send you letter to file itr, so keep filling nil return.

01 April 2016 Yes, if you don't have taxable income or your income is within taxable limit than no need to file tax return.

01 April 2016 Yes you can stop filing the Income Tax Return in the given scenario. But it is advisable to continue filing Nil Return showing whatever little Income you have.
