22 August 2015 Hello Experts,

Pls clarify, can CAs make a representation on behalf of their clients before ITAT.
The Rajasthan bar council has submitted a petition with CCIT opposing the same, but i guess the case is still subjudicious. Pls answer.

22 August 2015 I am not aware of Rajasthan Bar Council's petition but there was a recent judgment of Supreme Court on National Tax Tribunal where they have passed a ruling that CAs and CSs are not lawyers and hence they are not eligible for appearing before NTT. Regarding ITAT all I can say that unless a confirm judicial decision comes there is no finality regarding the same.
