whether we need to deduct tds on maintenance charges, if so where in the act this provision is related ?

Yes you have to deduct TDS u/s 194c @1%/2%

TDS to be deducted @1% if payee individual/HUF and for others @2%

TDS will be deducted when single payment exceeded Rs.30000/- or the aggregate amount during the FY exceeded Rs.75000/-

actually maintenance charge is a contract so TDS to be deducted u/s 194C

Even though it is a contract it does not fall under the definition of work. So I think TDS is not applicable. correct me if I am wrong
