There is a partnership which is dissolved 3 years back. But still they have not cancelled the service tax Registration Number.
what is the procedure to cancel the registration number?
ALso the firm is yet to file the service tax returns (Nil return) before dissolution.
Is there any penalty provision which the firm has to pay?

We have received some "Information technology software services" from a private company based in india for Rs. 249934/- against various bills during F.Y 10-11. Bills are raised for " Oracele database, Antivirus cd, Windoe server cd, Ms-office cd etc prodcuts or services selling".......does Info. technology services includes these services or products also?

Calculations are as follows according to me:

Service Provider----Company & service recepient----Firm

TDS rate u/s 194J---for professional & technical services----- @ 10% (suecharge & education cess are not applicable)

TDS amount would be Rs. 24,993/-

M i right in above situation or not...........please let me know

I am working with one of the top ten company of india. I was cleared my PE II 2004. Due to lack of time can you please provide guidance related to CA Final New Course.

Particularly I am confusing related to Audit whether I will go for Paduka or Prakhar Sharma as Paduka is big and Prakhar Sharma is very small. My theory is also good so I would like to get more marks in it only.

Whether relocation of father's business from one place to another exceeding 50 kilometers is allowable for the transfer of an articled assistant?

I have appeared for 1st Group of CA Final Nov 10 exams under old scheme.

From May 11 i have to appear for 2nd Group of CA Final New Course Since Nov 10 was last exam under old scheme.

My Question is whether do i need to apply to institute for conversion from old course to new course and if yes, What is the procedure to be followed or it will be automatic.

I have cleared cpt in june'10 attempt.My score in cpt was 105 as I had left the Quantitative portion and did not even attempt a single question of that portion.Now I'm preparing for my Ipcc exams.I have planned to appear only for group-1 exams in may'11.I still have 5 mnths left with me.Please guide me how to prepare for my Ipcc exam as I want to clear it in my first attempt only with very good marks.
