Dear all,we are a manufacturing concern and don't have ST registration.Though we have several service bills to pay(including RCM cases) per month.
Since we are not registered,we can not take credit of ST paid.some accountants suggest us to show the tax paid as your expences by adding them with related expenses head instead of debiting them as our input. Is the practice correct ?
1) If yes. Please suggest the entry.
2) If no.Please suggest the appropriate treatment of tax paid.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Sir,
One of my client has calculated wrong Service Tax for F.Y. 2014-15 resulting into a liability of Rs. 50,000.
Now, in F.Y. 2015-16 the client has paid excess Service Tax resulting into a Refund of Rs. 40,000.
Can he adjust this refund against previous Outstanding demand. If not, how will he able to pay that liability
Service Tax Returns of F.Y. 2014-15 are already filed.

A got registered as service provider and got his registration number in 2013-14. He filed his ST3 properly during that year.
In 2014-15 he did not provide any taxable service and filed NIL ST3.
In 2015-16 he was covered as small service provider and exempt till his gross receipts reached Rs 10 lakhs.. He did not cross this limit in 2015-16 so he does not come under service tax, but he is still registered as service provider, as he has not surrendered his registration.
I presume he does not have to file ST3 for 2015-16, Please clarify if my presumption is correct?
