As per- 'Frequently Asked Questions on, supply of certified copies/inspection of evaluated answer books':-

'9. I applied for certified copies of my evaluated answer books and received them. I notice that the marks awarded on the answer books are different from the marks on my mark sheet? Why is it so?

In terms of Regulation 39(2) of the CA Regulations 1988, the Council of the Institute may, in its discretion, revise the marks obtained by all the candidates or a section of candidates in any particular paper or papers or in the aggregate in such manner as may be considered necessary, for maintaining the pass percentage provided in the regulations. The term “section” used in the above mentioned Regulation refers to the category of the candidates whose answer papers are valued by an examiner and such other category of candidates as may be specified by the Council. Marks awarded on the answer books are the marks given by the examiner, based on the actual performance of the candidate. Marks given on the mark sheet include marks awarded in terms of Regulation 39(2) mentioned above.'

I would like to know what exactly means by ' for maintaining the pass percentage provided in the regulations', What is the pass percentage been referred above?

I want to know what steps should be taken by a student, if he clears few papers on re-verification and inspection of answersheets, meanwhile already applied for upcoming exams for those relevant papers.

i Cleared may 2014 IPCC exam both the groups(1st attempt)...what's the apt time for final registration?Also would like to know when am i eligible to attempt CA final ?

The Result have been declared, but mine it shows as " Record Not Found "

Then in such case what it means ?

Good day and thanks in advance for solving my doubt,

I wrote final examinations in May 2014, (Fourth Attempt) but failed in ISCA, and applied for certified copies. There I found this issue,

1. For answer to question 1 (b), the answer I wrote was almost the same as given in Practice Manual or Suggested Answer. But I was awarded a Zero for that.

Is there any remedy to rectify the same? When I ask my friends, they say that only totaling errors are rectified, and owing to Regulation 39(2) and Regulation 39(4) of ICAI Regulations, 1988, it cannot be rectified. Please explain the implications of these regulations.

In the absence of any such chance of rectification, the correction appears to be capricious and arbitrary. I would have to just keep writing on exams, hoping one day that I would qualify in this game of chance and luck.
