Basic exemption limit

One Assessee has T/O of Rs. 950000/- in the 1st year. He has paid Service tax on the same. In Next year his T/O is Rs. 975000/-/ Now, in Second year he wants to claim basic exemption limit of Rs. 1000000/-. Can he do so?

yes he can claim, there is no bar on availing benefit if you had paid ST voluntarily in previous year as long as your prev. yr. TO is less than 10L
