Availing of input tax credit

Can input tax credit be availed every month on say service tax deposit to govt. Or what rules say about claiming ITC. Last but not least do we have to produce supportings for claiming ITC and in what manner...?

You can claim based on the Tax Invoice raised by the service provider or tax paid challan proof given by the service provider
