22 October 2011 Can a person be appointed as director of a company without obtaining DIN. Whether DIN can be obtained after the date of appointment as Director and form 32 can be filed thereafter.

25 October 2011 According to sec 253 of the companies act,1956:
"No company shall appoint or reappoint any INDIVIDUAL as a director UNLESS he has been alloted DIN u/s 266B.

Therefore, so a person cannot be a director without obtaining a DIN.
