Kindly give me the format for application to be made to AO for grant of extention of time for the payment or payment by installmentsd of the IT Demand in view of the provisions of sec 220(3) of the Act.

Sub:- IT demand -extension - request for.

I am in receipt of the above referred assessment order / intimation for the assessment year...... directing to pay an amount of Rs.......towards income tax and interest thereon. The said demand is supposed to be paid off on or before...... But I may not be able to pay off the demand on or before the stipulated date due to tight liquidity problems on account of the following reasons.
1) I have to pay an amount of Rs..... as advance tax on or before 15th March, 2011.
2) Dues to state government on account of PF/ ESI /VAT etc has to be cleared before 31 March,2011.
3) Creditors are insisting for early payment on account of the financial year closing.
4) My bankers are not ready to release temporary enhancement upon the availed overdraft facility being a request put up at the fag end of the year.

In view of the above, and for other reasons that may be let in at the time of a personal hearing which I am seeking for, I request that I may be permitted to pay off the demand in three equal installments starting from April 2011 onwards.
I may also request you that I may not be treated as an assessee in default till I pay off the demand.
