Application for no tds on senior citizen pension

17 December 2012 A retired employee gets pension and bank interest which doesnot exceed rs.10,000.but TDS is cut every time by the employer.can TDS be avoided instead of claiming refund every year. and is form 13 applicable for senior citizen pension?

17 December 2012 It is better to request the employer in writing by declaring the fact that the pensioner is having below taxable income and as such the employer is not under the obligation to deduct TDS.
.

Pension is covered under the head Salary Income and Application to the A.O. may be made for getting the certificate of No Deduction from the A O and which in turn can be submitted to the employer.

18 December 2012 thank you so much..but how can we apply to the A.O for no deduction? is there any specific form for it? kindly help...
