applicability of service tax on ringtone downloading

my client is engaged in composing rajasthani songs(music), he sales his music th downloading of ringtone (th internet or th mobile operator) and recieved his share, does he is liable to pay service tax on it.

on the basis of facts delivered by you that transaction seems to be levy under VAT Act.

i think it is liable to service tax only when receiver take it thruugh device of service provider.

It is not service, it is a product like computer software so there will not raise any question of Service Tax. It may attract to VAT @4%
