28 August 2015 I received a bill for Rs 1000 + 140( St @14%) from my service provider. I intend deducting Rs100 for deficiency of service . Shall i calculate ST for Rs900/- ie Rs 126 (14% on Rs900) and pay the bill?

28 August 2015 Raise the debit note containing the amount 100 as deduction for deficiency in service + 14 proportionate portion of service tax = 114

Ensure that the debit note is properly served on the service provider and then remit the balance.
