hello,
i have manufacturing business & i want to close this business & start trading activity insted of manufacturing activity.
so,i want to know that i can amended manufacture certificate for dealer cetificate in excise or not? if not why not?

Yes it can be done without amending the certificate. Excise duty is payable on manufacturing but if you do trading by purchasing the finished goods and selling the same no excise duty is payable. See and watch the situation and wait for one or two years in case you makeup your mind to re-start production then you will have to face lot of formalities with excise department.

surrender the manufacturer's registration and apply for dealers registration as dealer registration has less liability and dealer is free from pay cash excise, also dealer is not required to maintain DSA and PLA
