15 February 2014 I have not appeared for any CA final group since last 5 years. I want to appear for CA final exam on November 2014. Can you please guide which group should I appear in November 2014

15 February 2014 1. well first of all you should apply for revalidation of your registration as CA finals registration is valid only for 5 years.

2. choose group on the basis of your comfort. Nov 14 is far and you have sufficient time to prepare for both the groups.

20 February 2014 please guide on books to refer for CA final for all subjects. Also can you please guide if companies act 2013 is applicable for November 2014 exam

20 February 2014 Dear Amita,

As of now it cannot be commented upon whether Companies Act 2013 shall be applicable or not for November 2014. ICAI is yet to issue any notification on the same. As of now, you should defer the preparation for Law for the time being and focus on other subjects.

With regards to preparation for other subjects, you can refer to

1. Dinesh Madan for ISCA (please note ICAI has changed syllabus for ISCA from Nov 14 attempt. The same is posted at http://www.icai.org/post.html?post_id=10166)

2. Direct tax: you can use Manoharan or Gupta

3. Indirect Tax : You can use Bangar

4. Law : Munish Bhandari subject to ICAI clarification on Companies Act

5. Audit: Rawat (for AS) and Surbhi bansal notes

6. FM: you can go for Sridhar

7. Costing: Sexana & Vashisht

8. Accounting: MP Vijay Kumar
