AS PER HAND BOOK OF PROCEDURES VOL1(2009-2014) PARA 2.27(A) ABOUT THE IMPORT AND EXPORT OF SAMPLES

"NO AUTHORISATION SHALL BE REQUIRED FOR IMPORT -EXPORT OF BONAFIDE TECHNICAL AND TRADE SAMPLE OF ITEMS RESTRICTED IN ITC CODE EXCEPT VEGETABLE SEEDS , BEES AND NEW DRUGS. SAMPLE OF TEA NOT EXCEEDING RS. 2000(CIF)IN ONE CONSIGNMENT SHALL BE ALLOWED WITHOUT AN AUTHORISATION BY AND PERSON CONNECTED WITH THE TEA INDUSTRY"

"DUTY FREE IMPORT OF SAMPLE UP TO RS. 100000(ONE LAKHS )TO ALL EXPORTERS [RS. 3,00,000(THREE LAKHS) FOR JEWELLERY SECTOR SHALL BE ALLOWED AS PER TERMS AND CONDITION OF CUSTOM NOTIFICATION. EXPORT OF BONAFIDE TRADE AND TECHNICAL SAMPLES OF FREELY EXPORTABLE ITEM SHALL BE ALLOWED WITHOUT ANY LIMIT.

20 October 2012 Advance Licence is issued for duty free import of inputs, as defined in paragraph 7.2, subject to actual user condition. Such licences are exempted from payment of Basic Customs Duty, Surcharge, Additional Customs Duty, Anti Dumping Duty and Safeguard Duty, if any. However, Advance Licence for deemed export shall be exempted from Basic Customs Duty, surcharge and Additional Customs Duty .
