14 August 2013 If medical premium is part of CTC ( Cost to company) whether it is applicable for 80 D for employee .

14 August 2013 if co pay u/s 80d medical premium and receipts in your name then its part of your salary and you can claim u/s 80 d as deduction

The portion of Medical premium paid by company on your behalf which is not deducted from your earned salary is not eligible for 80D deduction.

But Employer has done group insurance for all d employees as a group whether it can be eligible for 80 d deduction from the income of employee.and it is part of ctc.

14 August 2013 Premium paid on group insurance policy for employees, not taxable in the hands of employee and that is exempted. since the income is exempted so not eligible for deduction under chapter VI-A
